Testimony of Long Sitha
My name is Long Sitha, I am 26 years old. I have two brothers and two sisters in my family, and I am the third. My parents are still alive and they both are small business owner.  My life was messed up with these earthly things. I stopped going to school at grade 7 and I started connecting myself with a band of gangs. I didn’t obey my parents and I started stealing things at home to trade for drugs. My friends led me to different places in the city at night and we drank too heavy very often.
We used all different kids of drug including ice meth and heroin injection. My parents were very sad when they knew of their son was in the middle of a terrible life. They didn’t have any solution for me. As I kept connecting myself with these gangs, I have been used to be a drug dealer to school students and those who have needs for drug. I earned a lot of money through such the job. I stopped going back home and began living outside with my friends. There, I learnt many bad things and how to trap people into drug.
Long Sitha.JPGAs a drug dealer, I have to escape from the police. If I was arrested, I would be put in the jail. I began thinking of going back home and stopped selling drug, asked my parents to pardon me. Then I went back home and I was refused by my father, but my sister spoke on my behalf to the father to allow me back home, and he agreed. The word of Teen Challenge was reached to my sister through a local church pastor where I lived.  My sister shared this with my parents and they agreed to help me to Teen Challenge. I was brought to Teen Challenge’s office for pre-counseling before I made a decision to enter the program of Teen Challenge.
After a couple days, I decided to ask Teen Challenge for help and I was brought to Teen Challenge program At the Teen Challenge they counseled me, and help me to realize the dangerous path I was walking down, helped me to start taking responsibility for my life and find a good pathway to becoming a constructive member of society. They taught me all the different skills, so that I can help myself when I graduate from the program, and another important thing is that theyintroduced me to God, and it is God who changed me. The more time I spent at Teen Challenge the stronger my faith in Jesus grew and now I have finished the program and I am studying with Project Future Organization on mechanic repair, and I am also a member of New Life Phnom Penh Thmei Church where I started learning more of English skills, computer skills
and the bible. I want to become a great mechanic man, and teach other people how to do the same job I knew and generate an income for my future. I want to thank Teen Challenge and all their partners for helping me get clean and for this new life I have. Thank you Teen Challenge!
